Voting Options In the 2024 November General Election

Make sure you are registered to vote: mvp.sos.ga.gov

Three ways to vote:

1. Request an absentee Ballot (AB) and turn in it personally on election day to the board of registrar’s office or a drop box (see below for locations). If you request an AB but decide to vote in person, take it with you to the polls.

2. Vote in person on election day

3. Vote early in person.

Available now. Last day to request an absentee ballot is October 25th

How to request your absentee voter APPLICATION – four different ways:

  • Complete the online form at mvp.sos.ga.gov
  • Download the application at mvp.sos.ga.gov
  • Stop by: 1117 Eisenhower Drive, Suite E, Savannah, GA M-F 8am to 5pm. Complete the form there.
  • As a last resort Call: 912-790-1520 (Voter Registration Office) and ask them to mail you an application.

How to Submit Your Absentee Ballot APPLICATION – five different ways:

  • Deliver in person: 1117 Eisenhower Drive, Suite E, Savannah GA M-F 8am to 5pm
  • If you complete it online, you will submit it online.
  • Scan and email the form you download or receive in the mail to: absenteeballopt@chathamcounty.org
  • Fax: Voter Registration Office 912-790-1519
  • As a last resort, mail: Voter Registration Office, PO Box 13757 Savannah, GA 31416

Note – to make sure your application request was received:

1. Go to mvp.sos.ga.gov

2. Scroll to find info on your absentee ballot request.

Ballots will be sent out starting three to four weeks prior to the election

FYI! YOU MAY NOT TURN IN A COMPLETED ABSENTEE BALLOT TO YOUR PRECINCT. Absentee ballots are only turned into the Board of Registrar at Eisenhower Drive or to any drop box during the early voting in person dates. See below for info on drop boxes.

Early Voting Dates:

Starts October 15th and ends November 1st

Drop Box Locations are only available at early voting locations during early voting dates and regular voting hours.

Early Voting and Drop Box Locations:

  • Voter Registration Office (1117 Eisenhower Dr, Suite E)
  • Mosquito Control Board (65 Billy B. Hair Drive)
  • Islands Library (50 Johnny Mercer Blvd.)
  • Pooler (to be determined)

If you request an absentee ballot and then decide to vote in person on November 5th, take your ballot with you to your polling place so they can destroy it. Then vote as usual on the machines.
